Behind the notebook
How I lead
My management style is simple. I try to create space for people to have autonomy and ownership, but I stay close enough so they're never blocked. When something is unclear, I make it clear. When something is slipping, I pull it back on track. And when someone needs support or a context, direction, or a shield from noise - I'm there.
A few things I try to practice:
- keeping standards high and consistent
- making sure people know what "good" looks like
- staying calm when there's pressure
- speaking directly, but with care
- promoting direct communication between peers, not through layers
- stepping in only when it truly helps
I like predictable delivery, honest conversations, and teams that trust each other enough to be real. I don't like or play power games, and I don't pretend I know everything. I try to lead with clarity instead of volume.
